Lovers

Lovers are a reoccurring theme in Melike’s work. She is fascinated by the idea that there is a feminine and masculine energy within all of us. Regardless of gender or sexual orientation this energy is a manifestation of yin and yang, giving and receiving, intuition and logic. The balance of both these energies is when we feel most harmonious within.
Melike uses the lovers in her work as a physical representation of this energy, believing that the union of both takes us into experiences with our highest self.
